If you pre-ordered Diablo 4, you get access to Light Bearer, a special horse available to all pre-orderers. If you want to learn how to get Light Bearer, you’ve come to the right place. Here is how to get the Light Bearer mount in Diablo 4.

Note: Besides knowing how to unlock Light Bearer, one of the first things you’ll want to know in Diablo 4 is how to increase potion capacity.

Diablo 4: How to unlock Light Bearer mount, explained

As a reward for pre-ordering Diablo 4, you get access to the Light Bearer mount. However, you don’t get access to a mount the moment you start the game. Instead, you need to know how to get a mount in Diablo 4, which I recommend you read the guide I wrote to learn how.

Basically, you unlock a mount in Act 4 of the main campaign. You’ll reach around level 40 to 50 by the time you unlock a mount since you need to complete Act 1, Act 2, and Act 3 before starting Act 4. It’ll take some time before you get to ride a horse in Diablo 4, but it’s worth the grind.

Since mounts are locked behind completing a specific mission in Act 4 of the main campaign, you won’t technically get your Light Bearer mount until Act 4. However, the moment you walk into Kyovashad and finish the prologue, you can talk to the stable hand and see Light Bearer, your pre-order bonus mount, waiting for you.

To recap, if you pre-ordered Diablo 4, your Light Bearer mount is automatically unlocked. You can see it and any other bonus mounts, mount armor, and trophies you own by talking to the stable hand in major towns like Kyovashad.

However, you can’t ride Light Bearer until after you’ve completed the specific Act 4 story quest that walks you through getting a mount. Until then, enjoy walking around on foot — the better to solve Faded Plaques and farm Crushed Beast Bones.
