Since its unveiling, the MTG community has been speculating about the Marvel’s Spider-Man set, and today, several cards have been disclosed.

Last March, the initial MTG Spider-Man cards captivated the internet. Although it was a scene box set, the six cards presented allowed fans to witness the heroism of the web-slinging champion, while also previewing some villainous designs arriving in Magic: the Gathering. A new selection of exclusives was unveiled today, displaying a variety of heroic allies that will be joining the set when it debuts on September 26.

During the panel at SDCC 2025, attendees were treated to a glimpse of new heroes and villains heading to the Spider-Man set. MTG has a considerable task ahead, with hundreds of characters to depict from the illustrious history of the resident Queens’ superhero, and MTG rekindles a moment from the very beginning, the cover of Spider-Man #1.

The late and legendary artist, Steve Ditko —the original illustrator for the first Amazing comic— contributed his iconic depiction of the hero, highlighting the moment Peter Parker was bitten by the radioactive spider, prominently featured. The artwork is directly pulled from the comic pages and placed onto an MTG card that can be utilized in-game. When Peter undergoes his transformation, the artwork first shown from the cover of Spider-Man #1 is uncovered, showcasing the entire Marvel First Family, the Fantastic Four.

MTG embraced the hero’s origins; they fully engaged with them and extracted scenes straight from the comic book pages and panels. Below, a gallery has been provided (courtesy of Wizards of the Coast) of all the cards disclosed so far, each embracing the webslinger’s beginnings and the evolution of the narrative throughout Spider-Man‘s legacy.

In addition to the main set cards, WOTC also offered fans a preview of some cards that are anticipated to appear in the newly introduced Welcome Deck set that will accompany the rest of MTG Spider-Man. It’s crucial to note that WOTC has already established that only the cards with the SPM set identifier will be Standard legal, while the others (like the welcome deck code SPE) will not be Standard legal. The cards from the welcome decks are presented below.

While the new Spider-Man Universes Beyond set will debut on September 26, fans will first be transported to the Universe Within set, Edge of Eternities. Edge of Eternities launches on August 1, and fans can discover more details regarding any of the upcoming sets on the official Wizards of the Coast website.
