Broken Mirror Games, in partnership with Skybound Entertainment, has officially unveiled the debut gameplay trailer for their forthcoming survival horror game, “I Hate This Place.” Announced through a press release, the game presents a craft-oriented, isometric survival horror adventure filled with distorted creatures and altered realities. It boasts a distinctive comic book art style and takes cues from an 80s horror aesthetic. “I Hate This Place” is scheduled for release in Q4 2025 on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The game will incorporate a dynamic day-to-night cycle, compelling players to scavenge and craft during daylight to ready themselves for nighttime monster confrontations. Exploration is vital, as players must navigate the map in search of essential resources. Combat is not always the optimal choice, as stealth is crucial to survive against monsters that track by sound.

Drawing inspiration from Skybound’s Eisner Award-nominated comic series by writer Kyle Starks and artist Artyom Topilin, “I Hate This Place” tells the story of Elena, who struggles for survival after inadvertently calling forth a malevolent entity. The game merges vibrant colors, a nostalgic comic book style, and 80s vibes, providing a distinctive mix of horror, dark comedy, and camp.

Established in 2024, Broken Mirror Games is a collaborative horror label under Bloober Team, concentrating on immersive experiences, inventive gameplay, and engaging storytelling to craft unforgettable, spine-tingling titles.
