Italy’s leading science fiction festival, the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival, is going all out to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Renowned for honoring the fields of science and science fiction, the festival will showcase films, literature, exhibitions, video games, and cutting-edge technology. This year, the festival intends to enhance global sci-fi culture by presenting productions from across the globe.

In honor of this milestone, the organizers have commissioned the famous Spider-Man comic artist Sara Pichelli to create the official poster for the event. The artwork captures the essence of science, fiction, and everything that lies in between, reflecting Pichelli’s distinctive style. The poster portrays a human figure representing a woman who is terrified, enraged, and confined, yet poised to reclaim her identity. Pichelli states that the image serves as a compelling commentary on the brilliance of human creativity, emphasizing the challenge of staying true to oneself in an industry increasingly dominated by AI. The design includes circuitry that connects the human to an organic flower, symbolizing the woman’s pleas for assistance.

The festival will occur at prominent locations such as Politeama Rossetti and Teatro Miela, with the Sci-Fi Dome making a return to Piazza della Borsa for additional events and immersive activities. Artistic Director Alan Jones assures an unforgettable edition featuring blockbuster films, eccentric independent works, mind-expanding documentaries, cult favorites, and notable guests.

For individuals intending to attend, further information and ticket purchase options can be found on the official Trieste Science+Fiction Festival website.
