Upon returning to Teyvat, HoYoverse has revealed the debut of Genshin Impact’s latest area, Nod-Krai, introducing new characters, quests, and much more.
To celebrate its fifth anniversary and broaden its ever-expanding universe, Genshin Impact has rolled out its significant yearly update, Version Luna I: “A Dance of Snowy Tides and Hoarfrost Groves.” This update transports players to Teyvat’s seventh region, Nod-Krai.
In this new region, players will embark on a journey with a fresh ensemble of characters to track down a Fatui Harbinger, tap into the ancient kuuvahki energy for both exploration and battles, and add new heroes to their roster. Moreover, the Genshin Impact Fan Art Special Program is set to return on Sept. 20, 2025.
For those intrigued by the action role-playing game, Genshin Impact unfolds in Teyvat, a realm filled with areas inspired by real-world locations — from Mondstadt, which draws from Germany, to the newly added Nod-Krai, inspired by the Baltic Sea region. Players assume the role of a Traveller, exploring the land, completing missions, and encountering companions while searching for a sibling who has gone missing. During their adventures, they can recruit and level up companions, enhance weapons and artifacts, and forge diverse parties for combat and exploration.
In Nod-Krai, the newest Archon Quest follows the Travellers as they ally with the Lauma of the Frostmoon Scions, confront the Wild Hunt with Flins, and meet new allies in Nasha Town, including Dori, Nefer, and Jahoda. Players will also cross paths with Columbina, a Moon Maiden who parted ways with the Fatui to return to her homeland. Ultimately, they must face the Fatui Harbinger Marionette, who aims to seize the moon’s power from her fortress.
To expand on the new allies who will join the Traveller’s journey in version Luna I, here are the highlights of their stories and playstyles:
- Lauma, 5-star Catalyst wielder – Revered as the Moonchanter and highly respected within the Frostmoon Scions. Her connection with animals enables nearby creatures to offer healing, food, and ores to aid the party, while also utilizing the new Lunar-Bloom reaction with her Dendro abilities.
- Flins, 5-star Polearm wielder – Utilizing the power of Electro through his Lunar-Charged strikes, Flins is an experienced Lightkeeper, employing his lantern to detect the Wild Hunt and decipher their enigmatic whispers.
- Aino, 4-star Claymore wielder – The creator of “Knuckle Duckle,” allowing an exclusive interaction with the robot. Available for free as players progress through the new Archon Quests.
With the introduction of new companions, take the opportunity to delve into their everyday lives through the latest feature, “Meeting Point,” as Lauma and Flins share stories of ancient lore, while Ineffa and Aino enjoy touching moments together.
With the arrival of Genshin Impact’s latest update, the Event Wishing Banner cannot be overlooked during Version Luna I. The initial segment of the Event Wishes will showcase Lauma and a rerun of Nahida, along with the Sumeru-themed Chronicled Wish allowing players to select their preferred 5-star Sumeru character. The latter half of the Event Wishes will feature reruns of Flins, Aino, and Yelan.
After the release of Version Luna I and the commemoration of Genshin Impact’s fifth anniversary, players will have a wealth of rewards to claim. The available rewards include:
- A complimentary 5-star character from the Standard Wish, complete with the necessary ascension materials to elevate the character up to Level 60.
- 10x Intertwined Fate
- 1,600x Primogems
- Two unique Nod-Krai-themed gadgets
Continuing to celebrate its 5th anniversary, HoYoFair will present a Genshin Impact Fan Art Special Program, titled “Parallels Meet”, on September 20 at 4:00 PM EST, streamed across <a href="https://www.youtube.com/@hoyofair" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.youtube.com/@
