Marvel Rivals is poised to debut one of its most exhilarating updates to date, launching the game’s inaugural Player vs. Environment (PvE) mode. This fresh feature, in partnership with the Marvel Zombies animated series on Disney+, will enable players to fight against swarms of zombies alongside their teammates. The update is set to roll out on October 23, perfectly timed for Halloween, and will be accessible on all platforms. However, it is still uncertain if this mode will be a permanent fixture or just a limited-time affair.

In this survival-centric mode, groups of five players will unite to face the undead using a curated selection of characters. Players can opt to assume the roles of Thor, Blade, Magik, Jeff the Landshark, and The Punisher. The ultimate test awaits those who can withstand the unending waves of zombies, as they will contend with powerful adversaries such as Zombie Namor and the Queen of the Dead.

Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo shared details about the distinctive abilities each hero will have in this mode. Players can charge through foes as Jeff, unleash Blade’s Moon Blades, harness Thor’s electrifying capabilities in his Awakened state, or shift into Magik’s Darkchild form for a frenzied rampage. These powers are set to enrich the gaming experience, allowing players to demonstrate their combat prowess against both zombie hordes and formidable bosses.

This groundbreaking mode is anticipated to challenge cooperation in Marvel Rivals, possibly leading to additional PvE content in the future. Such expansions could greatly enhance the durability of hero shooters like Marvel Rivals.

Blade, who was added to the roster in August as the 41st hero, is a flexible Duelist recognized for his close-quarters combat skills, with the capability to adjust to medium-range encounters. The most recent character incorporated into Marvel Rivals, unveiled earlier in October, is Daredevil.
