Ancient Version of GTA 4 Discovered with Unused Zombie Mode, Ferry Assets, and DJ Lines at Car Boot Sale

An ancient, work-in-progress version of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto IV has reportedly been discovered on an Xbox 360 development kit at a car boot sale, somewhere up Edinburgh way. Dating back to November 2007, about six months before the open world game‘s launch, it’s said to contain a cut model for a Liberty City river ferry that once featured in a trailer.

While we only have the buyer’s word that the development hardware – “a phat white Xbox 360 XDK with a Rockstar North label on it” – is legit, former Rockstar technical director Obbe Vermeij has, at least, verified that GTA 4 was once supposed to have a ferry, though he doesn’t have much to share about the presence of materials for what appears to be a canned GTA 4 zombie minigame. The Comeback of the Super Mario Bros. Animated Series: Upgraded with AI Innovations

### MeTV’s Comeback of *The Super Mario Bros. Super Show* Encounters Criticism Over AI Enhancements

Earlier this month, MeTV revealed an exhilarating comeback for enthusiasts of the cherished cultural icon, *The Super Mario Bros. Super Show*. The timeless series, showcasing a distinct mix of animation and live-action segments, started airing on March 30, aligning with the excitement surrounding a new Mario film. Nevertheless, the nostalgic return swiftly attracted criticism from fans who were disheartened by the show’s quality, which had been subjected to an AI enhancement process.

#### AI Enhancement: The Debate

Upon its release, subscribers observed that MeTV had incorporated AI enhancement into the series, a technology designed to boost video clarity. The outcomes, however, have been far from ideal. Fans circulated screenshots of the enhanced episodes online, emphasizing notable differences between the original and AI-modified animations. Grievances included awkward detail smoothing to outright modifications in the content, such as a significant change in the show’s opening sequence, which altered *The Super Mario Bros. Super Show* to *The Suele Mario Bros. Super Show*.

#### Features of the Original Series

First aired in the late 1980s, *The Super Mario Bros. Super Show* was not regarded as a high-cost production. Viewers frequently pointed out its budget animation and sporadic off-model designs. In spite of these shortcomings, the series held a special place in the hearts of many, delivering a distinctive mix of humor and fantasy alongside iconic Nintendo characters like Mario and Luigi. The series also included live-action segments featuring actor Lou Albano as Mario, contributing an appealing touch that resonated with fans.

#### Community Reactions

The AI modifications faced backlash from both casual viewers and devoted fans of the original series. One discontented fan, cartoon aficionado Matt Hunter, expressed a broader concern about the trend of using artificial intelligence to “restore” classic animations. Hunter remarked, “This is why you should never use AI to ‘restore’ a cartoon,” echoing feelings shared by numerous others. Critics argue that AI enhancement ought not to supplant original source materials, as it may create a modified viewing experience that strays from the creators’ original intent.

#### Fans Highlight Quality Concerns

Social media platforms turned into the main stage for displaying quality contrasts. Users uploaded images and videos juxtaposing the show’s original VHS releases on sites like YouTube with the newly broadcast AI-enhanced versions on MeTV. Chris, a fan from the “Cartoon Research” Facebook group, shared his confusion regarding the quality differences, suggesting that MeTV might have relied on low-resolution online versions instead of high-definition originals.

#### Conclusion

The debut of *The Super Mario Bros. Super Show* on MeTV encapsulates a mix of nostalgia and controversy, sparking discussions about the impact of technology in preserving animated classics. While many fans were keen to revisit childhood nostalgia, the experience was tainted by the questionable quality induced by AI enhancement. In an age where digital technology can enrich our experiences, it raises a significant question: should some properties be re-evaluated with a focus on authenticity over mere enhancement? As the dialogue evolves, one thing is evident—the affection for Mario persists, yet the approach to its revival is still in question.

The Character Kliff in Crimson Desert Was Inspired by a MacBeth Character, Leading to Actor’s Influence on Design Changes for a Less Stoic Portrayal

I know exactly who Kliff, the protagonist of Crimson Desert, is. During my romp through the vast expanse of Pywel, he was a distant tower enthusiast with a side interest in lonely locomotives. Aside from those things, he’s rather bland. Though, the actor who played him has now outlined that throughout the game’s regularly shifting development – which included a name change for its main character – he pushed Pearl Abyss to make the character more than just a stoic line-grumbler.

Marathon Responds to Issues Surrounding Viral Movement Exploits Considered Harmful to Gameplay

### Recent Updates in Marathon: Movement Exploits and Outpost Modifications

Bungie’s newest update for *Marathon* has introduced notable alterations aimed at correcting movement exploits while also enhancing the well-liked Outpost region. Committed players had been leveraging a method known as slide-canceling, which enabled them to navigate swiftly through stages without incurring overheating penalties. This strategy required executing a slide and then canceling it by drawing a weapon or utilizing specific skills like the Thief’s grapple, providing players with improved speed and positional advantages.

In light of community feedback, Bungie has officially rectified this exploit. The development team pointed out that the fundamental principle of *Marathon* is to guarantee that rapid and assertive movements come with a real cost, such as ability charges or heat accumulation. They stressed that unrestricted movement undermines the intended rhythm of gameplay, making the recent modifications essential for maintaining fairness and competitive integrity.

Alongside addressing movement exploits, Bungie has revamped the Outpost area, a current focal point for loot and player interactions. Adjustments include reopening the Destroyed Wing entrance, updating the security credentials necessary for accessing locked areas in the Hub, and installing bullet-proof glass in the Hub. In conjunction with these alterations, the quality of loot accessible in the Outpost has been notably enhanced, signaling that this region is set to become even more intense and engaging for players.

Despite these significant updates, the recent patch is relatively minimal as *Marathon* nears its one-month milestone. Bungie has indicated that a more extensive mid-season balance patch is anticipated in April, with additional content and systems scheduled for rollout in the forthcoming season, which begins in June. Players can anticipate new elements such as a revamped loadout system and an updated iteration of Dire Marsh, in addition to their ongoing contracts and challenges.

As devoted players tackle the outstanding contracts and continue to pursue high-level challenges like Cryo, anticipation builds for future updates that may further hone gameplay mechanics and introduce new content to keep the experience vibrant and captivating.

The Challenges of Crafting in Videogames: Lessons from Lucid Blocks’ Alchemy System

There is a tiny wild sun trapped inside my crystal tower. I hear its garbled voice and catch the yellow of its fire through the blinding white blocks of the summit. The tower itself is so bright on the outside you can barely identify objects placed on it, but I have smashed the crust and dug a network of passages, and it’s shadier within. A realm of shining fog, slick as tooth enamel, with fissured, fugitive reflections that call to mind the beautiful quartz spacecraft in Noctis.

The relative gloom inside the tower implies that the structure’s external radiance is also a reflection. It appears to be caught in the glare of some celestial body, but if such a body exists, it emits radiation invisible to the naked eye, discernable only from its impact on other bodies. The skies of Lucid Blocks are dark and cloudy even by day, inasmuch as ‘day’ means anything in the game. There is one major astral feature, a hazy torus that neither rises nor sets, luminous enough to orient by when exploring the game’s procedurally generated landscapes, but not enough to actually light your steps after dark. The only real sun here is the one below. The one I crafted. It slurs and shouts, nosing the walls of its prison.
