### Avowed’s Development Update: Anniversary Patch Rescheduled

Obsidian Entertainment has decided to postpone the final update for their RPG, **Avowed**, originally planned for this autumn. The studio has announced that instead of rolling out the anticipated new game plus mode this fall, they will integrate it into a more substantial anniversary update set to coincide with the game’s first birthday on February 18th, 2024. This decision aims to enhance the update, which will also introduce other new features yet to be detailed.

The autumn patch was expected to be the third major update for Avowed this year, following a summer update that focused on refining combat for non-magic users while ensuring wizards didn’t dominate the gameplay. The summer update revamped skills for fighters and rangers, allowing for a more balanced gameplay experience.

With this new roadmap, players can look forward to a larger update that not only includes the previously promised new game plus mode, but also a photo mode and a new type of weapon. These features, initially scheduled for autumn release, will now debut in February.

For many players who are eager to revisit Avowed, the delay may be a blessing in disguise, especially with the holiday season often being busy. The addition of a photo mode is particularly appealing, allowing players to capture the stunning natural landscapes the game offers, which have been highlighted as a standout feature.

Character customization enhancements will also be part of the anniversary update. Players will gain the ability to change their appearance in-game and access more presets for character features, including the “Godlike” traits that allow for a variety of mystical enhancements for their avatars.

Obsidian has teased that in addition to the confirmed features, players should expect “additional surprise elements” in the anniversary update, prompting speculation about what these could entail. The gaming community is buzzing with ideas, ranging from whimsical features like a giant mushroom that players could ride or throw, to potential crossovers with other Obsidian titles, such as a humorous encounter with corporate adversaries from **Outer Worlds 2**.

As players gear up for the February update, the anticipation surrounding the anniversary patch sets the stage for a significant celebration of Avowed’s first year, promising to deliver an unforgettable experience filled with new opportunities and surprises.
