Heartopia Penguin Favourite Food
Aside from the food they like the most, Penguins are also much happier during the Rainbow weather event. How cute is that?
The Food Penguins Love:
The star rarity of the food item determines how much your Bond Level with the penguins increases. A 3-star+ rarity always results in a higher increase, but that isn’t to say you should avoid giving food with 1 star or 2 stars.

Where the Penguins Are Located
To find the Penguins and their trough, you must head to Winter Utopia. If you didn’t know, it costs 0 Gold to take the Star Bus to Winter Utopia (and it’s also free to travel to the town centre via Star Bus).
Once you’re at Winter Utopia, head to the right towards the portal to the Snow Concert. Before crossing the water, you can spot the Penguin Trough by the rocks. It appears as a blue ice block covered in snow, with various fish strewn around.
Frequently Asked Questions
How Long Are Penguins Going to Be in Heartopia For?
Unfortunately, Penguins are not a permanent fixture in the game. They’re only available during the Winter Frost Season event. Once the event ends, you won’t be able to find them. So, I recommend increasing your Bond Level with them as quickly as possible. Reaching Bond Level 5 rewards you with an adorable penguin figurine to decorate your home (or island) with.
Do You Have to Feed Penguins With Their Favourite Food?
Nope, it’s not a must. The main reason for feeding them with their favourite food is that it makes it much quicker to increase your Bond Level. However, as long as it’s a food item they can eat, you can put it in their trough.
In Heartopia, you can’t feed animals absolutely everything, as it doesn’t work like that in real life. For penguins, it’s mostly fish that you can provide.
When Were Penguins Added to Heartopia?
Penguins arrived in Heartopia during Week 4 of the Winter Frost Season Event. There are 6 weeks in total for this event, which means once it ends, the Penguins will disappear. It sounds depressing when I put it like that…
Weirdly, there are no Winter Frost Weekly Challenges involving the Penguins. I would have thought there’d be a quest to feed them at least once. Because of this, they’ve been a bit of a surprise addition to the game.
