Menace Releases Initial Roadmap: Overview of Upcoming Features and Developments

**Menace: An Overview of Upcoming Features and Updates**

Menace, the latest tactical title from Overhype Studios, known for their work on the highly praised Battle Brothers, has been making waves since its early access release approximately a month ago. Following this launch, the developers have shared a roadmap outlining upcoming changes and additions, albeit with sparse details regarding specific timelines.

As the game progresses through early access, players can anticipate a steady influx of content. This includes new weapons, items, and enemy types, alongside ongoing bug fixes and balance modifications. The developers are also planning to introduce various new operations and missions, while enhancing the user interface (UI) and artificial intelligence (AI) of the game.

In terms of major updates, players can look forward to three distinct reinforcement drops for squad leaders. The first drop will feature squad leaders inspired by the game’s narrative factions. Following this, the second update will introduce characters influenced by marine and classic themes. The third will revert back to the story factions, further deepening the game’s lore and strategic variety. Additionally, there are two main story expansions in the pipeline, yet no specific dates or release timeframes have been provided for any of these updates.

The roadmap also hints at upcoming system and feature enhancements, with three sections redacted, leaving fans guessing. Notably, the third section revealed plans to add a new large boss unit alongside a smaller unit. An overhaul of the Operational Command Interface (OCI) and improvements to character interactions are also in consideration. Furthermore, players should expect a significant rework of the existing planetary environments, alongside new planets featuring sub-biomes and narrative factions linked to these celestial bodies.

Though there’s a great deal of exciting content expected to come, the developers have opted against a strict schedule for releasing these features. In a recent Steam post, Overhype Studios explained their approach: “we explicitly decided against showing a predetermined order for adding the features. We will go with the flow and repeatedly evaluate which feature makes the most sense to be added next. The problem with rigid roadmaps is that they impose strict boundaries on our development process, and that is not how we want to work.”

For those who have yet to try out Menace, it is currently available in early access on Steam, providing an opportunity for players to engage with its evolving tactical gameplay as the team at Overhype Studios continues to refine and expand the experience.
