How to Use Bait in Bridger: Western
To use bait, click the Bait in your hotbar before casting your line. Unfortunately, there’s no visual indicator if you’ve done this correctly, but you should notice hooking and catching fish much quicker (around 2x for Speed and Pull Time). Also, bait applies a passive luck chance, so rarer catches are typically a good sign that you’re equipping it. Bait does NOT work if it is just in your inventory. You need to reselect the bait first every time before casting your line. It’s a little repetitive and annoying, but needs must.
Is Bait Worth The Investment?
If you can get past the annoying way you use it, Bait is always worth investing in. Not only does it make the fishing minigame a little easier, but it also secures rarer catches quicker with less risk of failure. Even if you receive common catches from fishing using Bait, the entire reward pool is still more valuable than the price of a single Bait.
For example, Bait costs 15 Moola per, and the cheapest fish to catch is the Snapper, which sells for 25 Moola. Whilst not a huge profit, you’re still making 10 Moola.
In short, if you find yourself fishing frequently or want to make some quick cash, then Bait is worth the investment.
Gone Fishin’
To get Bait, visit the Tackle Bait Fishing Store and purchase it for 15 Moola each. This is the same store you buy your Fishing Rod from for 150 Moola.
How To Fish
Click and hold to cast. When a fish bites, you’ll complete a small QTE minigame to secure the goods. The length of the QTE corresponds with the rarity of your catch.
