Former Employees Accuse Gunzilla, Studio of District 9 Director, of Prolonged Wage Withholding

**Gunzilla Games Accused of Delayed Payments to Employees Amidst Management Controversy**

Gunzilla Games, the studio co-founded by acclaimed filmmaker Neill Blomkamp and developers behind the NFT-centric battle royale game *Off The Grid*, is facing serious allegations from former employees regarding severe delays in salary payments. Multiple ex-staff members have come forward claiming they have gone months without receiving their due compensation, with some accusing the studio of attempting to silence worker grievances.

The accusations gained traction on platforms like LinkedIn, where Paul Creamer, a former animator who left Gunzilla in March, and Anna Savina, the studio’s former talent acquisition lead, voiced their concerns publicly. Savina stated, “I dedicated 3 years of my professional life to Gunzilla Games. I built teams, found top talent, and lived the company’s mission 24/7. Today, I’m forced to face a significant outstanding debt that covers several months of my professional life.” She highlighted that many of her colleagues were experiencing “significant salary delays with no clear timeline,” and noted that attempts to reach out to the company’s CEO and CFO had resulted in unresponsiveness.

Creamer echoed similar sentiments in his LinkedIn post, accusing Gunzilla of failing to pay its employees for extensive periods while still expecting work output. He claimed, “I have personally not been paid since October 2025,” indicating that some colleagues faced even longer delays. Moreover, he criticized CEO Vlad Korolev for allegedly being “not truthful,” claiming that the company was deliberately ignoring inquiries and removing posts that discussed the ongoing payment issues.

These troubling developments have raised questions about the internal management and operational practices at Gunzilla Games, especially for a studio in the early stages of developing a high-profile title like *Off The Grid*, which entered early access in 2024. Gunzilla has attempted to clarify its position on the use of NFTs within the game, stating, “Off The Grid is not an NFT game. It’s a battle royale game with an optional NFT element,” emphasizing that players are not required to engage with the NFT components.

As more employees join the chorus of dissatisfaction, the future of Gunzilla Games’ workplace culture and its reputation among potential talent may hang in the balance. The studio has yet to issue a public response addressing these allegations.
