Unlocking Pirate Piece Haki: A Guide to Observation and Armament Abilities

Unlocking Pirate Piece Haki: A Guide to Observation and Armament Abilities

**Want to know how I unlocked Pirate Piece Haki and what was in it for me? Of course you do, that’s why you’re here, dear reader!**

So, settle in as I tell you a tale about where to attain all three Hakis, their requirements, buffs, and why you should prioritise unlocking Haki as soon as possible.

## Pirate Piece Haki

Let’s get into it.

### Observation Haki

Located at **Starter Island**, you pick up **Observation Haki** as a freebie from the Enel NPC after staying in the game for three minutes.
*He’s pretty easy to spot, even if you don’t recognize the name, as above his head reads “Free Observation Haki.”*

Once unlocked, you trigger Observation Haki using the J key. Observation Haki equips you with **dodges**, allowing you to negate incoming damage and avoid powerful blows from NPCs, Bosses, and other Players.

It’s not the most versatile or prized Haki, often forgotten in place of Armament. But it’s great for in-a-pinch situations where you’re on the cusp of death and need an out. Similarly, you could use it to help get the drop on unsuspecting targets to get the first hit on them.

### Armament V1 Haki

Your journey with Armament Haki begins at **Restaurant Island** (Baratie Ship), the second island in Pirate Piece. Speak with the Garp NPC, who has Armament Haki written above his head and meet the requirements to unlock Armament V1.

– x40,000 Coins, x15 Gems, and x100 **Armament Haki Shards**

This unlocks the base Armament, which applies a flat Damage Buff increase, triggered with the H key on PC.

Speaking to Garp again lets you begin upgrading your Armament V1 using Coins:

Each level up to 25: +1% DMG and +1s of Armament Haki activation time.

### Armament V2 Haki

After completing the V1 prestige, visit Gol D Roger (Permanent Haki NPC) at **Hollow Dunes Island** to begin unlocking Armament V2.

This upgraded version of V1 is, as the name implies, permanent, and doesn’t stop working unless you die or leave the game. It’s also the most involved Haki, with a complete questline to unlock.

– 2,500 Gems and 1,500 **Armament Haki Shards**

**QUESTLINE:**

– Defeat Shanks 10 times (Forest Island)
– Defeat Reyleigh (Starter Island)
– Defeat Mihawk (Restaurant Island)
– Defeat Blackbeard (Marine Base Island)
– Defeat Grimmhow (Hollow Dunes Island)
– Defeat Gojo (Marine Base Island)
– Defeat Aizen (Hollow Dunes Island)

After completing all boss fights, you’ll unlock permanent Armament Haki V2.

## Frequently Asked Questions

– **How do I get Armament Haki Shards?**
– Armament Haki Shards are a rare find in Chests. They also appear as occasional Code rewards, if you’re lucky.

– **When should I unlock Haki?**
– Observation Haki is easy, as it’s a freebie for joining the game. Armament, however, requires a little bit of playtime to unlock. That said, I recommend getting it sooner rather than later, as a damage buff helps carry into the late-game when you’re facing world bosses and the infinite tower.
