Departure Isle is home to the first-ever Legendary Potion material, which is also the only material of this rarity found across this island. My **Wizard Alchemy Furnace Core** guide delves into where you find it for yourself, how to farm it efficiently, and what makes it so valuable.
Let’s get into it!
## Wizard Alchemy Furnace Core
First, I’ll talk about where you find the Furnace Core. As of *May 22nd, 2026*, the only known way to find it is through killing enemies around the Islet. This includes:
### Mutant Warhammer Dwarf
Located on top of the mountain, on the right side of the Fugitive Orc NPC. This enemy spawns intermittently and has a **14% chance** to drop the Furnace Core on defeat.
Thanks to this brute’s affinity for Warhammers, he’s fairly easy to defeat if you keep your distance and spam Spell Skills using the auto feature. Just don’t let him get too close…
### Mutant Goblin Archer
Situated on top of the Dwarf King Cave (Giant Helmet), this enemy has incredible range and easily overwhelms enemies if they’re not strong enough to cheese him. He can knock players off the helmet or snipe them from a distance with his incredible range.
If you are strong enough to battle the Mutant Goblin Archer, you’ll have a **14% chance** to obtain a Furnace Core when defeating him.
### Dwarf King
The final enemy to drop a Furnace Core, also with a 14% chance. The Dwarf King is the “Boss” of Departure Isle, located within his appropriately named Dwarf King Cave. He is also the strongest enemy to face in this region. If you battle him with other players, it makes the fight a little easier, but he’s still a tank with exceptional PvE qualities.
## Best Furnace Core Method
I’ve found that targeting the Mutant Warhammer Dwarf is the best method for grinding the Furnace Core, since if you gain distance or use the surrounding hills to your advantage, you can easily defeat him even if you’re underlevelled.
Plus, all three enemy types that drop a Furnace Core, all have the same 14% drop chance, despite a difficulty incline between them. This again leaves the Mutant Warhammer Dwarf as the best place to farm.
## How To Use a Furnace Core
The Furnace Core applies +43 Magic when brewing Potions, making it the most powerful material of Departure Isle when brewing. This equates to unlocking powerful and rarer potions, including those of epic and legendary rarity, depending on the full ingredients list used.
Aside from consuming Potions for new wand skills, high-tier Potions sell for a decent sum of Gold, helping you afford better quality Hats, Wands, Robes, etc., quicker.

## Frequently Asked Questions
– **What is the rarest Potion from Departure Isle?**
– The Night Wraith, which is the only Legendary Potion from this island. It requires 130 Magic to craft (Roughly 3x Furnace Cores). It has 140 Power, or sells for 250 Gold.
– **How do I refine Potions?**
– Next to the Alchemy table, you’ll see the Refinement pillar. Interact with this and choose your Potion. The more of the same Potion you invest, the better your odds of Refinement.
