Number of Shifts in an Animal Hospital

You know what they say, there ain’t no rest for the wicked, which is only reinforced in my guide, which tells you **how many shifts there are in Animal Hospital Anomaly**. Find out when you clock off, and how to efficiently survive to the very end with a tips and tricks section.

Let’s get into it!

## How Many Shifts Are There in Animal Hospital?

*Animal Hospital (Anomaly) has infinite shifts*. So long as you and your party survive, you can clock in repeatedly and tend to patients and anomalies alike.

### What About The Plot?

Whilst Animal Hospital does have some overarching plotline, this is typically smaller NPC-related stories rather than one main conclusive ending. The game instead offers some randomness when playing. This means you may not encounter the same NPCs each time you complete Shift 3, for example.

What will stay consistent is the constant barrage of sickly patients and occasional anomalies entering the hospital. After uncovering the lore of all NPCs (such as Barney, Ratthew, and Ron from Accounting, you enter the endless shifts, where no new storyline events trigger, but the game continues.

The randomness also means that there isn’t a concrete answer to when the main plotline ends, as this changes per campaign and depends heavily on your choices whilst playing, such as helping Barney and giving him coffee, or turning him away.

### Surviving Infinite Shifts Tips and Tricks

Well, infinite is a stretch as you’ll likely get bored and leave at some point. But here’s some advice to keep you alive longer than the average player.

– Always grab coffee at the beginning of each new shift. Anytime you want to recover sanity, take two sips and keep the final sip spare in case you need it.
– When sharing coffee with Barney, sip twice before handing him the coffee, and take the final sip just before he accepts it. This gives you the full +15 Sanity, and still satisfies his needs. You can do this similarly with headbangers.
– Use coffee to blow out candles during anomaly rituals. This does not consume any coffee.
– Bed Monster: feed a transplant, organ, or maple syrup to pacify this anomaly. It will leave shortly after feeding.
– Will also consume Hiders if you trick one into chasing you to the red hitbox.
– Hiders: Fire extinguisher, gun, or tasers all pacify this anomaly. You can also jump on top of vending machines and stock shelves and wait for it to leave on its own.
– Shapeshifter: Giving them the wrong medicine during treatment will kill them; otherwise, use a gun or taser.
– Give Medicine: To use this upgrade optimally, hold all medicine in your inventory but do not equip it, then administer it to a patient, and it will take all necessary medicine at once.
– Fire: If you extinguish all fires but one small area in each room, no new fires will spawn as the game considers the room engulfed. If you leave the small burning area in a corner you don’t need to walk to, you can basically disable fires.
– Barney: If you help Barney and hide him from the police, he will reward you with a second coffee machine.
