As excitement builds for the highly anticipated release of “Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls,” Arc System Works has opened the doors to its pre-launch open beta, which commenced on July 24th and will run until July 27th. This beta period offers players a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in superhero brawls before the game’s official launch scheduled for early next month.
## Beta Details
The open beta runs for a total of 72 hours, beginning on July 24th at 8 AM BST (12 AM PT / 3 AM ET) and concluding on July 26th at 11:59 PM PT, with a final cutoff on July 27th at 7:59 AM BST (2:59 AM ET). Participants do not need to register or possess a PlayStation Plus subscription but must have an active internet connection and a PlayStation account. However, concern over the game’s availability has surfaced, as many regions are excluded from purchasing the Steam version, a point highlighted in recent discussions surrounding the title.
During the beta, players can engage in fights across six diverse locations, featuring 15 of the 20 characters available at launch. Notable fighters include fan favorites such as Blade, Iron Man, Black Panther, and Magneto. Additionally, an open lobby is available for players to enjoy casual interactions, complemented by a training mode that allows newcomers to familiarize themselves with the controls. Players can also experience the first three chapters of the narrative-driven Episode Mode’s “Amazing Guardians” storyline.
## Upcoming DLC Character: Phoenix Cyclops
In conjunction with the beta launch, Arc System Works has announced the first post-launch DLC fighter: Phoenix Cyclops. Set to arrive in the autumn as part of a year one DLC batch, Phoenix Cyclops will be accompanied by a new stage. This version of Cyclops is inspired by his Phoenix Five incarnation from the “Avengers vs. X-Men” storyline, showcasing a revamped look that integrates the incredible power of the Phoenix Force.
Arc System Works producer, Takeshi Yamanaka, elaborated on the character, stating that Phoenix Cyclops will feature powerful Optic Blasts and exceptional hand-to-hand combat skills, emphasizing that players should “expect Scott Summers to bring the heat!”
