MinnMax Gaming Show Ends Partnership with YouTuber Jacob Geller After Claims of Previous Sexual Misconduct

# Jacob Geller Removed from MinnMax Following Sexual Assault Claims

Jacob Geller, a well-known critic and video essayist on YouTube with over a million subscribers, has been dismissed from his co-hosting position on the video game channel MinnMax amid serious claims of sexual assault. The allegations surfaced on September 30, 2026, via a since-deleted post on X, which disclosed that Geller had been removed from a role at the University of North Carolina’s college radio station in 2016 following an inquiry into purported sexual misconduct.

These claims were underscored against the backdrop of escalating discussions on sexual assault on college campuses, sparked by a civil lawsuit concerning an alleged rape incident at Cornell University earlier that same year. As the allegations spread online, they gained momentum on gaming forums like ResetEra, leading to further inquiries into Geller’s history.

In 2020, the North Carolina Supreme Court mandated the University of North Carolina to release records of students who breached the institution’s sexual assault policy, unveiling the names of 15 students. Geller’s name was included in these records, signifying a breach of the school’s policies regarding “Sexual Assault or Sexual Violence,” resulting in a “definite suspension for one semester,” which validated the original allegations he faced.

In light of the developing situation, MinnMax released a statement expressing their shock and sorrow, confirming Geller’s departure from the channel. They stated that he “won’t be on content moving forward” and that the latest episode of The MinnMax Show would not be aired as scheduled. The company’s statement showcased their commitment to approaching the situation thoughtfully and maintaining sensitivity during this difficult period.

Additionally, outside of MinnMax, the podcast Cane and Rinse also stated that it would be pulling all episodes featuring Geller from its archives, signifying a substantial fallout from the allegations.

As of the time of publication, efforts to contact Geller for remarks on the matter have gone unanswered. The consequences of this incident underscore the ongoing challenges and conversations regarding accountability among public figures in the gaming and entertainment sectors.
