Guide to Tree Jumping in Shindo Life: Console Instructions Included

It’s mighty high up, but not unreachable! Find out how to Tree Jump in Shindo Life in my player-made guide, telling you what to look out for, tips and tricks, and why this mechanic is a must-learn. Plus, this guide also works for console, bonus!

Let’s get into it.

How To Tree Jump in Shindo Life

To Tree Jump, you need to look out for a visual indicator before trying to leap. I recommend switching to first person for better accuracy and visibility, but third person also works.

When looking at a tree, a white 4-pointed star icon will track the tree. To initiate the Tree Jump, wait for the star to turn green and then jump. If you hold the jump key, black motion lines and a zoom will appear before the leap. On jump release, your avatar will lunge towards the indicator and clip onto the nearest solid object.

To practice chaining tree jumps, I recommend aiming at the next tree you want to leap to before landing on your current trajectory. So, after leaping towards the first tree (whilst airborne), look at the next tree to quickly charge your next jump.

Note: Tree Jumping isn’t limited to just trees. You can scale any hard surface, such as cliffs and buildings. The naming of this article is more in reference to what the majority of players call this mechanic.

What Is Tree Jumping?

Tree Jumping is one of the quickest traversal methods in Shindo Life. Once you master the timing, it gives you freedom to rush through woodland areas and cities with ease.

Strategically, you can use it to get to bosses faster than other players, get the drop on other players to ensnare them into PvP, or evade through rapid tree parkour if you need to escape a battle.

Or, you could tree jump because it’s fun and the camera motion tilting looks great.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Tree Jumping work on console?

Yes. During the 2026 update, Tree Jumping on console was a little buggy, but has since been fixed. Follow the instructions listed at the start of the article to enjoy it the same as any other player.

Is Tree Jumping the fastest way to travel?

Aside from choosing your drop location via the map when joining the game, tree jumping is the quickest way to travel between in-game destinations. It also offers some height advantages so you can see what’s happening below and are less at risk of surprise attacks.

Why do I fall through trees?

You can stand on solid objects, with no orientation limitations (for example, wall running along the ceiling of a building, length of a tree, etc); however, leaves are transparent, so you’ll sometimes fall through them when walking or running atop trees unless there is a branch beneath your feet.
