"Voice Actors Lady D and Orin the Red to Reprise Their Roles for Upcoming D&D Video Game"

Baldur’s Gate 3 illustrated the success of Dungeons & Dragons’ rules as a basis for RPG video games, yet Wizards of the Coast appears to be deviating from this effective approach. In spite of Baldur’s Gate 3’s acclaim, Wizards of the Coast’s upcoming project, Warlock, developed by their team Invoke, aims to venture into a different genre—third-person action adventure akin to titles like God of War. While this decision seems unusual, there might be prospects for Baldur’s Gate 4 in the future.

Information on Warlock is limited, but prominent voice actors have been revealed. Maggie Robertson, recognized for her performances in Resident Evil Village and Baldur’s Gate 3, will voice the protagonist’s patron, Tasha. In D&D mythology, Tasha is an archfey and the witch responsible for the spell, Tasha’s Hideous Laughter. Furthermore, Tricia Helfer, celebrated for her work in Battlestar Galactica and her voice roles in Mass Effect and StarCraft 2, will voice the main character. The initial gameplay footage for Warlock is scheduled to debut at Gamescom, which will take place from August 26–30 in Cologne.
