When it comes to Slayers 2 progression, patience is key. It’ll take a while to level up all the way to 65+, but there are plenty of quests to complete in Slayers 2 to help speed it up. Have a read of my Slayers 2 Breathing Style Tier List if you’re struggling to work out which one is worth unlocking.
## Slayers 2 Progression
With an open-world map, it can be difficult to know where to go and which NPCs to speak to at some points. Once you start levelling up, you can gradually unlock skills, pick up quests, and upgrade your Breathing Style.
### Overview
As soon as you start your adventure, you need a weapon. You can purchase the Regular Katana from Raze at Windy Peak for 500 Wen. This will get you through the first few levels until you can get a better weapon and unlock your Breathing Style. To unlock a Breathing Style, you first need to reach level 25, which you can easily do by completing quests.
Your Breathing Style carries you through to level 45, which is when you can start the Final Selection. However, many players recommend levelling up to 50+ to be safe, especially if you’re planning to do it solo.
Once you complete Final Selection, make sure to equip the Kasugai Crow for bounty quests; it’s time to work towards level 65. From here, you’re progressing your Mastery for your weapons and Breathing Style.
At level 65, you can begin the Forge quest in the Hidden Mist Village, unlocking the option to craft weapon upgrades with Blacksmith Togane. The goal here is to unlock the Nichirin Forge in the Ouwigahara Dungeon hub area. You’ll have to delve into the Ouwigahara Dungeon to gather the necessary materials for the crafting recipes.
As you work on your weapon upgrades by collecting the required resources or Schematics if you decide to go for the Nightfall or Lightfall weapons, you can focus on increasing your Mastery, completing quests, and levelling up. Currently, the ‘endgame’ is reaching Iceveil Valley and progressing through the quests there.
#### Clans
Once you’re able to, you should roll for a clan. The rarer the clan, the better the buffs are. Some clans work better with certain Breathing Styles, solidifying your build; however, this relies on RNG and potentially a lot of clan rerolls. If you’re unsure, take a look at my Slayers 2 Clans Tier List.
#### Skills
As you progress, you’ll earn Skill Points, which are used to unlock new skills via the skill tree. The branches on the skill tree can also provide permanent buffs, increasing your Maximum HP, for example. One of the best skills to unlock is the Wall Climb ability, as this makes it much easier to traverse the map, reaching higher platforms for specific NPCs or items.
#### Breathing Style
When it comes to your Breathing Style, you’re free to pick whichever one you want. Each one has differing unlock requirements. Some require Demon Horns, which can only be obtained via specific enemies in a hidden cave. There are also Beast Cores, exclusive to Beast Born Demons.
#### Final Selection
As mentioned in the Overview section, at level 45, you can start preparing for the Final Selection. For this, you need to head to the Butterfly Estate before walking across a bridge located to the South. At the end of this bridge, you enter the Final Selection Plains, with a path to follow to the Final Selection.

#### Weapon Upgrades/Forge
The Forge quest unlocks at level 65 in the Hidden Mist Village by speaking with Blacksmith Togane. Following this quest leads you to the Nichirin Forge in the Ouwigahara Dungeon hub area, where you can use crafting recipes to upgrade your weapons. The materials required for these upgrades can be gathered from the Ouwigahara Dungeon.
